ResQ Kit is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

A. Location Data
The app may request location access to provide "Earthquake and Natural Disaster Alerts". We use this data solely to calculate the distance to the event epicenters and send you relevant notifications. Location data is not stored on our servers.

B. Device Identifiers
We collect Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to deliver push notifications. These tokens identify your device but are not linked to your personal identity (name, email, etc. remain anonymous).

C. App Settings
We store your selected magnitude filters, notification distance, language preferences, and unit settings locally to ensure the app functions as intended.

2. Emergency Features

• Emergency Contacts & SMS: You may select contacts from your address book. Only the name and phone number of selected contacts are stored locally on your device. We do NOT upload your entire address book to our servers.
• Whistle & Morse Code: These features use the device's audio and haptic systems. No audio data is recorded or stored.
• Flashlight: Uses the camera flash for light signals. No photos or videos are captured.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

We use Google AdMob for in-app advertising. AdMob may collect device identifiers and limited location data to serve relevant ads. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Usage of Data

All collected data is used exclusively to provide core app functionality (real-time earthquake and natural disaster alerts) and improve user experience. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

We use Google Firebase for backend infrastructure and push notifications. Firebase Anonymous Authentication allows you to use the app without creating a personal account or providing any personal information.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Uninstalling the app automatically removes all locally stored data from your device and disconnects your device token from our notification system.

7. Children's Privacy

ResQ Kit does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app is intended for general audiences.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
